Saturday, April 14: Don’t forget to register for the Sally Biondi workshop, Experimenting with Paper, on April 14 (form attached to this newsletter). Sally does wonderful things with odd papers and simple techniques. This workshop will be perfect for all skill levels, even if you’ve never used watercolor before. Since this workshop has been moved to the Manassas Mall, the deadline to register has been extended to April 7.

Saturday, June 16: Artist Fae Penland will conduct an English Watercolor Techniques workshop. Many of you will remember Fae from our October meeting, where she showed us how to create an underpainting in shades of gray, then layer over it to achieve luminous color. Deadline to register, June 2

WATERCOLOR ON CANVAS
with Marni Maree!
Most people think of watercolor as a medium that is executed on paper, but did you know it could be painted on canvas as well? Local artist Marni Maree will share her techniques for preparing the canvas, applying color, adjusting the image, etc. It’s a whole new world for watercolorists, come and join the fun.
10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Manassas Baptist, 8742 Sudley Road, Manassas.
The workshop will include demos and critiques, as well as plenty of time to work on your own creations.
For teens & adults, all skill levels.

WATERCOLOR WORKSHOP
The Maine Event – with Michele Frantz
Having spent summers on Peaks Island, Maine for most of her life, Michele Frantz has a long experience painting the Maine coast, as well as a large catalog of reference photos! In this workshop we will be using those photos to create our own “memories of Maine”, featuring glorious sunsets, mysterious fogs, rocky shores, and more.
