The Rail Fest is a celebration of Manassas’ rich railroad history, featuring full-size rail cars, model railroads, railway history, folklore and memorabilia, live entertainment, and more. This festival always draws large, enthusiastic crowds. We are seeking artists to exhibit work during this festival. All work to be exhibited must relate somehow to the theme of trains, railways, model railroads, etc.
"Remains to be Scene" is just one event connected with "Paint! Manassas" our annual en plein air painting contest. July 2011 marks the 150th anniversary of the start of the Civil War. In recognition of this event, the Manassas Art Guild is calling for original artworks which relate to the history, artifacts and landscape of the Civil War in Virginia.
Our premier event. Exhibits, paint-outs, and an en plein air competition with cash prizes. Now includes a photography category. 2011 will be bigger than ever as Manassas becomes the focus of the 150th anniversary of the Civil War. Open to all artists. Deadline to register for 2011: TBA.
